In the beginning of the year, I set out to share my style resolutions for 2024, and as usual, it’s a good idea to review how well I stuck to them. Here’s a recap:
1. No Black - 9/10
I've decided to avoid purchasing and minimize using black clothes for some time and actively try to dress in different colors - or at least be conscious when I put a black outfit on, that black is there for a reason and not as default.
I must say this one worked out well! By the end of the year, I've actually started to dislike black and prefer to focus on other colors, even if it's just navy. I did buy two black blazers - one from COS and one from Tibi - simply because I loved them both and there were no other color options. That’s fine. Otherwise, I did really well on this resolution - 9 out of 10!
2. More Color - 10/10
I will try to use more color in my daily life, and my sale purchases as well as summer shoes are reflecting that. There is definitely more work and thinking involved than just switching different neutral combinations, but I hope it will be rewarding and worth it.
Yes, yes, yes - I did it! By the end of the year, I feel fluent with color. I’ve paired some very unique pieces and love playing around with different hues. I also wrote several posts on color dressing and tried plenty of colorful outfits. I’m definitely calling this a win!
I also did a post on identifying “statement colors” and how versatile they can be, and I still refer to it when choosing new items.
And here are some of my favorite colorful outfits from this year!

I am now preparing to do a few months of no-buy and see what pieces I feel I am missing the most. Fingers crossed that my resolve stays strong.
