Tibi fans know that the beginning of September is a time of celebration for the brand’s loyal followers. It’s when Tibi holds its in-person runway show at NYFW and invites some of its customers. Even if you aren’t invited, many Tibi fans still visit NYC to participate in meetups and adjacent Tibi events. This creates an amazing community of like-minded people, making the experience feel like one big family reunion.
Here are my takeaways from the show:
Chill for Adults
The show is now available on YouTube for those of us who couldn’t attend in person. As I watched it, I reflected on what makes Tibi so special. I realized that no other designer brand captures the concept of "chill for adults" quite like Tibi. There are other minimal, classic, modern brands, but if you're looking for that relaxed vibe without the literal interpretation of sneakers and a T-shirt—opting instead for a sophisticated suit that still doesn’t feel restrictive or stiff—Tibi is unmatched.
Not Too Much Color
Another thing Tibi is known for is incorporating color into its selections. However, on the runway, the color scheme was primarily neutral, with the exception of a few colors. Red remains the queen of colors, while several shades of green, peach, and buttermilk also made an appearance, alongside a blend of burgundy and brown. It felt like less color than you typically see on Tibi’s website, but this palette was stunning nonetheless.
Collarless or Collars Up
Blazers are one of Tibi’s specialties, and they were a key feature in this collection—worn either with the collars up or without collars altogether. This resonates with the recent trend of more cinched blazers, often worn closed as a top with lapels fastened. Tibi’s take on this trend is, of course, much more relaxed, but still notable.
Tibi Signature - Clever Design Details
One thing that Tibi does extremely well is pre-styling clothes. The brand adds clever details that offer multiple ways to wear the pieces. For example, take this sweatshirt with belt loops at the bottom. It’s a feature that adds a lot of versatility to how the sweatshirt can be styled.
Another standout is a pair of joggers with zippers running down the entire leg. I can already imagine the myriad ways these will be styled in Tibi’s style classes and by the Tibi community. Picture them paired with different socks, tights, and other creative touches.
Jewelry Styled in Interesting Ways
We’ve grown accustomed to ultra-modern, colorful statement jewelry from Tibi, but this show featured more traditional pieces—gold and silver chains and chunky earrings. The styling, however, was impeccable. For instance, the belt loops on a sweater were used to thread a chain belt through, replacing a traditional tie.
Shoes & Bags (!!!)
As always, Tibi delivered with its shoes and bags. Since bags were prominently featured, there was speculation that Tibi might be releasing new designs. Time will tell, but Tibi’s previous bags have been of exceptional quality, and fans are eagerly awaiting the next iteration.
And as brand fans know, shoes are a Tibi specialty. I especially loved the two-tone ankle boots and the latest version of the square-toe Seth sneakers in khaki.
Cape, Bubble & Coocoon Hems
Tibi continues to play with interesting hems and backs, featuring a cape, bubble, and cocoon approach that gives the impression of effortlessly throwing something on. The finale dress was particularly striking, with an exaggerated cape seemingly made from the dress itself, attached to the top. It flowed majestically as the model walked, creating a truly stunning effect.

SO much interesting styling and perspective. It got me feeling really creative. I am caught up by a continuation of what Amy's been alluding to on the style lives -- the swaggery low rise perspective. I said "never" and you know what they say about that. It's making my heart race!
Wow, obsessed with the square-toe sneakers, the belted sweatshirt, jewelry restyled, and that buttery yellow dress in the first image....so everything? Great reporting!
