I’m so impressed that you can wear boots like that all winter, honestly haha — I would be freezing! I’m in Canada, so I’m not sure how our weather compares, but our winters are very snowy and cold. My favorite “cuter” boots are from a Canadian brand called Maguire — I have the Cortina style (the shearling-lined ones). They’ve kept me warm even at -30°C and still look like new after a full winter! Though yes, they do have a thicker sole… I’m afraid that might be part of the reason why!
-30 is indeed a different ballgame. We get -20 sometimes, but not all the time. Maguire looks very interesting, I forgot that Canada also knows what is winter :)
I still revisit your older post on winter boots. As you know, I did end up buying the Paris Texas ones and I love them. And is it the biking that helps me have my boots for years? Is it because I don't actually walk that much in mine that saves them from the elements? 😳🙈🙌🏻
Yes, that might be the case or maybe Copenhagen is more humid and less snowy due to seaside location? I also do not walk that much, as mostly it is car commute or an occasional stroll in the old town. But recent acquisitions were quite disappointing in that regard. Great to hear you love Paris Texas boots!
I'm sorry - even though Vagabond is scandibased, I don't think any normal leather boot will hold up in the snow and salt. The only ones I've found lasting in those condition are something with a thicker sole to avoid getting as much salt etc. on the boot and typically in nubuck or more heavyduty leather 🤷♀️
Maybe you are right and I am expecting too much.. I've had a couple of boots that did held up though - one pair from Flattered was exposed to a lot of walking, and still looked good in the end of the winter, and another from a no-name brand held up too. But maybe these are the exceptions not the rule

Haha yes unfortunately! Their quality is great for the price point :)

If you find any, I'd love to know!
Absolutely, will share it!
La Canadienne. Highly recommended!
