I love these try ons and appreciate feedback by people with different body types to what are on the product descriptions! The gingham slip skirt is high on my wishlist: I'm a huge fan of the silhouette and it's different enough to add to my collection. And love a good shopping-mule arrangement. I've benefitted from and helped many out here in Singapore
yes! I also love seeing the clothes on more body types, it just shows how proportions can change. Global Tibi fans is quite a community :) hello from Lithuania!
Thank you for the try on! It’s so helpful for those of us who can’t try it on ourselves and for whom shipping is exorbitant. Loved your buys and I really loved that pleat skirt on you too!
Tibi feels disproportionately hyped for what it delivers. The reliance on performance fabrics can read stiff or harsh rather than refined, and at its price point, it doesn’t consistently match the quality and material integrity you’d expect from true higher-end pieces.
I wish Tibi would go towards a more mid-tier pricing but they seem to continue increasing prices and striving towards luxury category, which limits accessibility. For the material quality, they have some very good silk or cashmere, but generally material quality does not seem to be the key brand promise or focus (I love the Curated for top notch quality and accessible prices). Tibi is more about pushed design that is somewhat ironic and playful and not as serious - even if it is a suit, it has interesting elements in it like removable sleeves, extra buttons, etc, and a chill vibe. But I personally try not to buy the nylon pieces that go close to the body - I've had my fair share of them and do not like sitting all day at the desk in a synthetic
I'm willing to pay a lot for quality, but despite my love of fashion, I'm not stupid, and there's no way I'd fall for the tricks some brands use. Tibi is a special case. Not only are the clothes made for a specific body type and size, but the whole concept is over-intellectualized. Crispy thanks to nylon and/or polyester? No, thanks. Exclusive fashion on many levels and just interesting to observe.
To me 'crispy' is just marketing speak, it doesn't bother me that much, although I agree that calling a piece 'silky' when it’s actually just cotton and elastane is on the brink of being illegal. But somehow, I’m filtering these things out - probably after trying a number of 'crispy' pieces on my skin :))
But the over-intellectualization at Tibi is very real. They push this message that style is vital to your career and life success. While that might be true in certain industries like fashion, it hasn't been my experience. If you dress neutrally or even just “basic”, you can still achieve a great deal without a clever wardrobe. I even ran my own experiment on this, and in my experience style matters significantly less than Tibi tries to portray
„Silky” without cotton but pure polyester is even better 😂 Although I must admit that the color wheel is smart and useful as long as I don't have to buy a $245 color chart from Tibi.
Dearest Dalia, it was so much fun to have our own Instagram live to understand how the two skirts I was personally interested in felt and looked on you :) Forever grateful for your time and honest feedback. I hope the skirt will be delivered tomorrow, so I promise to wear it next week <3
I loved the whole outfit with the coral skirt and also the two piece herringbone on you, and i was like WHAT WILL BE AS GREAT AS THESE? Until I saw that missile situation! (p.s. he was def flirting!)
Love your thoughtful try on and final purchase. I feel like I have just come out the other side of the Tibi tunnel. I’m much more critical of what comes in, especially with shipping and our exchange rate. I just bought a replacement pair of the tropical wool navy Stella’s - first full price Tibi piece in a long time. I bought mine from the Soho store when I was on holidays in 2022. My eyes were not ready for the fit and I went with a 6. I’m now realising I need the 8 (or even the 10, but baby steps!) and although they work out to be almost $800 AUD, I have worn my current pair, bad fit and all, at least once a week since I got them. Even my husband can’t argue that girl math 😉
Such a great try on!! I’m so glad you had a good experience in store. That crispy nylon Liam is on my wish list too… but realistically I have the navy nylon bomber so the blazer will probably never make it into my wardrobe. It looked gorgeous on you though!
Thanks for all of this great info! I love hearing all of your insights about the pieces. I'm curious about what else you might have tried on at Rachel Comey?
Great post! I love your detailed explanation of the fit and why (not) to buy. It has advantages to live far away from Tibi. I got into the hype, bought 2 pieces in sale in Paris. Then got out of the hype. Too expensive anyway. I still get inspired by style class, not always. Thanks for this great post!

Thank you Xue, same here - I try things on in person with every chance I get!

Imagine the markup on a $475 nylon skirt.

So want the Liam in crispy nylon! Can I ask how tall you are ?
I am 168cm or 5 ft 6 in! The crispy Liam is good!
I think i am just too short
I think I need a new dream 😂
I’ve heard a petite Liam is coming!
Wow!

Looking forward to see how you like it!

Thank you!! Yes, he did like the skirt! How are you finding your hoop skirt? I was surprised how easy to wear it was!
The pleated skirt and cashmere is so cute on you. Thanks for all of the good intel.
I sometimes have had that fleeting feeling too. My retired wardrobe can be so limiting!
Yes, the pleated skirt is amazing! I lowkey want to go back to office to wear all these beautiful clothes :))
You have to get the crispy nylon blazer in blue !! It is everything 🙏🏽
We'll see, we'll see :) Prioritization is ruthless with so many good pieces

Yes, Tibi experience is truly a tunnel! Glad you found your Tibi WOF in the stellas, there’s a reason they are so popular:)

Thank you for sharing your try on with us 💗
Thank you! Yes, the bomber is definitely in a similar universe like Liam, I am still questioning if I really need it too
This was so fun to read! I love the tunic with the pleated skirt on you I hope you get them in the sale
I loved the skirt but I am afraid it might not work in my lifestyle. The tunic though is still on my mind!

I tried the swerve jeans but they were not available in my size. I know this brand way less so a bit overwhelmed when I popped in the store!
