If you've spent any time looking at runways or street style recently, you'll notice more and more examples of skirts and dresses being layered over everything—pants, skirts, dresses, and more. This kind of layering feels a bit foreign to me, and I never do it in my everyday life. However, as I was looking at these examples, I started wondering—am I missing out? Some of these looks are truly stunning. So, I decided to do what I always do—experiment and see what I can recreate from my own wardrobe.
Now, including pictures of yourself next to runway models is always a risky move, but there's little I wouldn't do in the name of a good experiment. So, let’s go!
Dresses over Pants
The base (but, God forbid, not basic!) combo is wearing a dress over pants. The dress can be longer in length or simply a tunic. Sounds simple enough? It is! For some reason, I found that wide-leg pants work better with this combination and it really looks very good! I can imagine wearing this to an elegant occasion, like an art gallery opening, perhaps?
