I really enjoyed reading this. Over the last year I shifted my focus from how clothes looked on me to how they actually felt to wear, and it’s completely changed my wardrobe.
I used to avoid getting my arms out or wearing anything fitted. Now I own more sleeveless dresses and form-fitting pieces than ever because my focus changed.
Focusing on comfort, ease, and how clothes support me day to day has opened up far more variety in what I wear. When you centre how something feels rather than how you think you should look, it becomes clear that clothes are just clothes. Our perception of ourselves is far more flexible than we’re often led to believe.
you are absolutely right! I find that even wearing that tight dress expanded my horizons - maybe full bodycon is not for me, but a tight dress with a blazer or sweater is no problem anymore (and before I thought it is too exposed)
We are so much harder on ourselves than anyone else, aren’t we? I think you look fabulous and I’m glad you were comfortable and chic. Just goes to show, most folks don’t care! Wear what makes you happy!
PS- I totally get the torso thing, and would tie a sweater around my waist.💕
Love love love these experiments and your reflections on them! So agree that were our harshest critics. I’m so happy you’re doing this!
it is expanding my comfort zone for sure!
We are our own worst critic - especially around what we perceive to be 'imperfections' with how we look
indeed!

yes, indeed, the only person that really cares and pays a lot of attention about what you wear is yourself!
This was fun to read. I have the exact same feeling about slim outfits and my stomach (and also my lack of booty in my case).
slim outfits is not for the faint of heart for sure! :)
Please keep on doing these experiments and thank you for being completely honest with us ☺️
all sacrifices for the scientific method! :)
