Fashion is constantly evolving, with new trends emerging at every turn. The temptation is real, at least it is for someone like me. I often find myself wanting to buy something new almost every week. To keep myself grounded, I’ve tried to develop a philosophy around it. If you don't relate to this struggle, you might want to move on to another read. However, if you're on the same boat, here are the essential questions you should consider:

  1. Will I wear it tomorrow?

This is the ultimate lifestyle check. Many times, we buy pieces for an imagined lifestyle, only to realize we never actually wear them. My best purchases have been those I wore immediately upon arrival, like the Tibi dress below. It's a clear indication that they seamlessly fit into my lifestyle.

  1. If not, do I know the exact date I will wear it?

Occasionally, we purchase clothes for specific events, be it a work presentation, conference, or birthday party. In such cases, it's essential to pinpoint exactly when you'll wear the item. I've often bought outfits with the vague idea of wearing them to the theater (like the Maxmara skirt below), even though I rarely attend – resulting in them gathering dust in my closet. However, when I buy something for a specific event, I usually end up wearing and enjoying it at least for that occasion.
